The Sinful Fellow

One day,
a long time ago,
there was an old man
who would watch a particular young fellow.

This fellow was not wise 
in the eyes
of that old man.
And day by day he tried
and tried
to be right in his eyes.
Failure upon failure his
attempts ever futile
until one day the old man's son had come,
and everything began to change.

When the son had come and sat down beside
the old man in the chair and as they watched the fellow arrive,
the son began to say to his father, the old man,
there is that fellow I had saved on the way
and the father looked to him and said,
him?

Why yes it was him the son replied.
And when the fellow arrived
he came joyously to the son
and praised him
for saving him.
And from then on the father looked
upon that fellow differently because
his son had saved him.
